This is the page to come for announcements about the membership of the Association of Part-Time Tutors.

Remember that the membership is the Association. We have a database of over 200 members, most of whom are Full members, ie they are practising or training teachers in the Adult and Community Education sectors or in Further Education. We also have a substantial minority of members who agree with our principles and ethos who are Friends of APTT, and whose membership we value.

Membership started in the North-East of England, but like Topsy it growed! We have members from abroad, including China and Greece. We have members from all over the British isles too. We have set a target that the membership will reach a thousand in the next ten years (from 2006 to 2016), so if you know anyone who would be interested in joining go to our main site at www.aptt.org.uk and click on Join APTT. You can pay online via Paypal or send us a cheque. From April 2007 the membership fees will be:

Full members £15.00 per annum. This includes the right to receive job opportunities via email and free training. You can also vote at APTT meetings, which take place 5 times a year in various venues in the Tyne and Wear area. Friends of APTT £8.00 per annum. This includes a right to attend meetings, receive emails about aspects of adult education and join in our training programme.

We also have regular social events, where we guarantee members a warm welcome! These include a Christmas meal and a walking club. Walks this year led by APTT members will be to Chopwell Woods and Bolam Lake. We also have good cultural days out. Dates to be announced.
